African Metro News emerged in response to a community
learning that thriving cities and regions are the ones with creative hubs,
dedicated to providing diverse information that connects the talent
(people) to the place and different communities of people to the Dayton region.
First published in 2009 after a community economic revitalization project
involvement with Updayton, a project of the Southwestern Ohio Council for
Higher Education (SOCHE), African Metro News continues to serve as the central
hub of information considered useful to immigrants in Southwestern Ohio and all
of United States.
As a non-partisan; civic journalism initiative, African Metro News acts a provider of information and a forum for exchange and community learning. We do this work by reporting about health, education, music, fashion, politics and other vistas in United States, while also offering immigrants a platform, to share their culture and perspective about life and living in the new country, with the American and global audience.
