CareSource Gives 15K to Dayton Immigrant program
Welcome Dayton, the City of Dayton’s initiative focused on being more welcoming to foreign born population has received $15,000 in grant funding from the CareSource Foundation. The funding is in partnership with the Unitarian Fellowship of World Peace,
The “Welcome Dayton: Expanding Access to Services for Immigrants and Refugees” grant will connect immigrants and refugees with services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
Education, outreach, and direct assistance will be provided by Welcome Dayton’s Immigrant Resource Specialists and by training volunteers, known as Natural Helpers. These individuals are typically members of ethnic communities who are able to act as cultural and linguistic brokers, have networks within the community and are able to provide direct assistance to individuals.
The CareSource Foundation provides Responsive Grants like this one to non-profit organizations who impact children, adults and families in areas of economic stability, job skills and employment, access to healthcare including physical, mental and behavioral health, and strategic public/private partnerships designed to increase healthy communities.
