Dayton Metro Library Opens New Branch on West Side

To celebrate the opening of the new West Branch Library,on Wednesday, May 4, 3-6 pm., Dayton Metro Library invites everyone to join them for a Community Open House
The following activities will take place:
At 3:30 and 5 pm, there will be a dedication and performances at the Outdoor Percussion Play Area, which was installed as a partnership with Preschool Promise and Learn to Earn Dayton, with funds from the Dayton Metro Library Foundation and proceeds from A Novel Night.
Watch drone demonstrations and simulations with Sinclair Community College’s National Unmanned Aerial Systems Training and Certification Center.
Network with community partners at an Information Fair.
Take tours of the Branch, which include watching technology demonstrations and meeting the Branch staff.

And have fun experiencing the Branch’s Westside Makerspace and the Funk Box.
Additionally, community members and patrons will be able to meet the Branch’s ReImagining Works artists AND the Library’s famed mascots, Cosmo and Pip. Healthy snacks will be served to showcase the Branch’s nutrition education cart. The new West Branch is located at 300 Abbey Avenue, Dayton (right at Route 35), which is in a historic section of West Dayton that is home to both Paul Laurence Dunbar and the Wright Brothers
