The Plot of the movie: Lost in Distance is simple enough: The young man would go first, a scout for their joint expedition to New York; The young lady- Posi Benson would follow once the paperwork was finally aligned. Their last night at the Lagos airport was a tableau of desperate optimism. There were promises whispered over the smell of jet fuel and overpriced meat pies, a frantic tethering of two lives that were about to be stretched over five thousand miles across the Atlantic.
The movie explores how distance stretches a relationship. First, digital intimacy and WhatsApp pings replaced physical presence, Then, the intervals between messages began to grow. The “Good morning, sunshine” texts devolved into “Busy day, talk later,” and finally, into the heavy, thrumming silence of a line that has gone dead without being disconnected.
