Jimi Olusola’s latest piece of poetry reflects on a commanding, enigmatic leader who emerges as both strategist and showman, orchestrating complex forces with quiet confidence. He dismisses criticism and vows decisive action, even as hardship—economic strain, uncertainty, and sacrifice—precedes any promise of progress. Around him, opportunists and detractors reveal themselves, their noise masking deeper schemes and self-interest. Yet beneath the intrigue lies a deliberate, almost invisible method, guiding events without spectacle. The nation, weary but resilient, moves through turbulence toward renewal. In the end, the poem reflects a collective journey—one of endurance, transformation, and the shared responsibility of rebuilding a future defined not by chaos, but by unity and hope.…
A Master at craft and a Lord of the guile..
An overt shenanigan, seemingly shy.
Conducting an Orchestra with many parts..
Has endeared opposition who held on so fast..
“I tell you my people, I’m here to do work,
Forget lousy comments over the network..
I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow the house down..
Of backstabbers and traitors, and those funny clowns”..
Before the Sun shines, there’ll be torrents of rain..
It’ll take a good while before y’all see gain..
Inflation, interest rates, GDP and all….
Our Magic’s so potent you’ll see them all fall… “
And one by one, walai, they left their closets..
And urged their acolytes all, who lined their pockets.
The subterfuge, total. The reach within range…
Accepting Prophecy Cultivating change…
The empty drums plenty, that made the most noise..
Bereft of all elan, devi
Were scattered like maize grains around our own globe..
Chicanery in action, an end to all probes.
A will-o’-the wisp,… maybe, a silhouette?… hmm.
The Outreach so measured, without the fanfare..
A clandestine class act, an “un voleur furtif”
Sit back and inhale, we’ll just watch the motif…
And so, our story goes on all the way,
A Nation, convalescing from so much fray..
Let’s not all forget that we’re all into this…
Creating a Nation, exuding great bliss..
