It was pomp and glitterati last Saturday, September 9th, 2017 when the Egbe Omo Yoruba of Dayton and Miami Valley celebrated the 24th anniversary banquet of the Egbe, a West African ethic membership group of Yoruba origin in Nigeria.
The Main Hall of St Benedicts De Moore in Dayton Ohio was punctuated with an array of Artful artifacts, cultural couture and colorful conversations, even as friends of all races and ethnic backgrounds, joined families of Nigerian-Americans to enjoy traditional Yoruba dishes and dance to authentic Yoruba music.c
The range of fun activities put together by the Egbe Omo Yoruba’s event include; An“eye-popping” acrobatic cultural dance and display by the Praise Performing Troupe from Cincinnati, Ohio; a segment showcasing the successes of Nigerian-American youths, thriving in colleges, in universities and in the professions across the country; and a segment where the president of the group, Mr. Theo Adegboruwa, presented check donations to 4 local agencies; The YMCA of Greater Dayton, The Foodbank of Dayton, Hannah’s House Chest of Dayton and the Brunner Literacy Center.
