The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Chicago District 34, will conduct a virtual PowerPoint presentation, “Adjustment of Status: Getting a Green Card.” on Thursday, November 2, 2023from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
The presentation will be led by Officer Maria del Carmen Rodriguez, Community Relations Specialist, USCIS Chicago District 34, External Affair. Officer Rodriguez will discuss the eligibility requirements and qualifications for obtaining a green card or lawful permanent residence (LPR) status. The presentation includes a description of non—immigrant and immigrant visa categories and family and employment-based forms of LPR adjustments. Officer Rodriguez joined INS as an asylum officer in 2002, and USCIS as an Adjudicator and Immigration Services Officer II at the Chicago Field Office in 2007. Previously, Maria served as an attorney with the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian in Chicago and as a Public Relations practitioner in the nonprofit arena for 15 years.
