Program offers Training for immigrants to get State credentials in Healthcare

The Adult Basic Literacy and Education (ABLE) in Kettering, OH is offering a unique and special Course to help immigrants get State of Ohio credentials to pursue careers in Health care.

The ABLE program is specifically targeting those interested in pursuing healthcare careers ant those who have a degree in healthcare from their country of origin but are lacking the technical and professional English to pursue credentialing.

The class begins April 8. Checks by African Metro News show that although the class schedule has not yet been confirmed, but is most likely going to be 12:30-2:30, four days a week.

The 80 hours of Healthcare curriculum covers the following:

  • Healthcare system;
  • Careers in Healthcare
  • Career Interest Assessment in Healthcare fields
  • Medical Terminology
  • Job shadowing opportunities
  • CPR certification

Students must make an appointment to complete an assessment in order to enroll. Assessments are occurring this week and next week. Contact Katie Miller at 499-1452 to make an appointment.
