Your pricing strategy may be the most impactful decision you make when starting or running your business, but it is often not given the priority or time it deserves. I On April 4 2023 a workshop i Columbus Ohio will discuss the relationships between price, value, and costs. The No Fee workshop will also cover the different price strategies that exist as well as review key internal and external factors to consider when setting and managing prices. A Zoom link will be sent prior to the workshop.

Speaker(s): Dan Latas retired from the Lubrizol Corporation after 30+ years of service as a marketing professional having significant experience in both strategic and tactical marketing, including price and profit management. Dan is currently Manager of Fenwick Castle Consulting, LLC, and working as a contract consultant to the Lorain SBDC.

This session of “Small Business Breakthroughs” is the “Show Me The Money” edition. The Program welcomes Ellen Harvey and Kevin Hammond from the Ohio Small Business Development Center to discuss how to prepare your business to be bankable and how to approach funders
This session will get into the nuts and bolts of funding. We will discuss how to create sales and expense projections, how to develop a business plan that funders will take seriously, and what you will need to pull together if you are going to seek financing. The event will also discuss various funding sources, what they are looking for from you, and of course, we will take your questions.

Ellen Harvey is a Certified Business Advisor for the Ohio Small Business Development Center at Columbus State Community College (SBDC). Ellen also serves as the Capital Access Manager for Kiva Columbus through the SBDC Kiva Partnership. Ellen is an economic development and lending relations professional with 18 years of experience researching, planning, implementing and evaluating small business and economic development programs for City, State and Federal agencies.
Directly, Ellen has assisted thousands of entrepreneurs with access to capital resources, training, and counseling. Having owned her own mortgage brokerage for 8 years, she truly understands the day-to-day challenges business owners face. In addition, Harvey’s experience as the Director of the Women’s Business Center for the Economic Community Development Institute and as a Business Consultant for the Minority Business Assistance Center has given her a unique perspective on the special issues that confront minorities, women, and economic and socially disadvantaged business owners. With the SBDC Ellen continues her quest to provide excellent service and guidance to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs.
Kevin Hammond has been a business management consultant for 15 years, mostly focused on small businesses and start-ups. Kevin has been on the SBDC team for almost ten years as a consultant. Prior to consulting, Kevin was in financial services at Chase Manhattan. Kevin has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University and an MBA from Capital University.
